I’m Dr. Tekeisha Zimmerman, Learning Strategist, Clinical Professor and founder of Masterpiece in Progress. I work with leaders and facilitators who are expected to run meetings, guide learning, and make decisions clear so work actually moves forward.
My approach comes from doing the work. I have led teams, designed and facilitated global programs, and learned firsthand how easily good intentions fall apart when communication is unclear or learning does not stick. That experience shapes how I work today: focused on practical skills, real behavior change, and helping people say what needs to be said in ways others can hear.
Over the past fifteen years, I have worked across corporate leadership, higher education, and executive facilitation with organizations including Affirm, Amazon, UnitedHealthcare, and Citigroup. Across all of it, my focus has stayed the same: helping leaders and facilitators communicate clearly, build trust, and move work forward.

Most learning programs aim for impact, but few actually drive real change. In this episode of GydeBites, Tekeisha Zimmerman shares why that happens and what L&D teams can do differently. From avoiding the most common missteps in change management to personalizing learning at scale, she offers fresh, practical strategies that go beyond the buzzwords.
At ATD 2024, I had the pleasure of being a guest on The Learning Culture podcast with amazing host, Andrew Barry. In this episode, I shared my journey in a role intentionally created to foster growth among talent development professionals, reflected on my transformative experiences at Amazon, and opened up about my personal journey, emphasizing the need for intentionality and empathy in leadership. And we also talked about elephants!
